About Us:
Southern California Browns Backers Association
The Southern California Browns Backers Association (SCBBA) was
founded in 1985 to band together displaced Clevelanders residing in Southern
California for the purpose of following the Cleveland Browns. But the SCBBA
soon developed into much more than that. We are today, a duly recognized,
non-profit corporation organized under the laws of the State of
California. In the past, the SCBBA has had charity fundraisers and our
donations have benefited such worthwhile causes as the Cleveland Heart
Association, American Diabetes Association, El Nido Services, Ronald McDonald
Childrens Charities, Jim Brown's Amer-I-Can Program, Los Angeles area
earthquake victims & the local homeless communities.
Membership in
the SCBBA entitles you to many benefits. Included among them are the regular
SCBBA e-mail newsletters bringing you inside information on the Browns and
details of SCBBA activities such as group trips to Browns games, club picnics,
our annual gala banquet, etc . Speakers at our past gala banquets have included
Hanford Dixon, Frank Minnifield, Felix Wright, Paul Warfield, Bob Golic, Art
Modell, Mike Baab, Eric Turner, Jim Shofner, Brian Sipe, Bill Belichick and Jim
Brown.
Another benefit of belonging to the SCBBA is the opportunity to view Browns
games weekly at venues throughout the Southland. The SCBBA has no monetary or
other affiliation with these restaurants and bars, and also has no control over
the availability of the games via satellite, however we maintain a list of the
establishments that have committed to showing Browns football to our membership
on a regular basis throughout the season over their satellite systems.
